Thanks phoneman for the update on timing, I have been listening out for her...I have had my ears full of her visit there today on the phone on her drive home and can't wait to visit her and hear more about it!!! She sure had a blast there! (This is her Mom) I sure wish I was able to come with her. She is back in her county but won't be quite home for a little bit...picking up Dixie from date.

He did really well after the bypass, then he had to go back in for Atrial Fibrillation. That is what is knocking him out he most. The meds are awful. He had to go back in the hospital for three days to get his heart back in rhythm. Drs. say they see that about 10% percent of the time after the bypass.

Hate to hear about all the struggles health wise...sure hope he gets back on his feet soon!

WOW lots to catch up on. Yancy Happy Birthday, love the cupcakes,

Deb sorry about your hubbys health, glad to hear he is on the raod to recovery. Jingles that he doesnt have anymore complications and all will settle back to normal really fast. No idea on the color of that chick, but I bet susanne may have a clue since she really knows silkies.

Lauren, I am so sorry about the d'anvers. Jingles for th eroo, and now that you know it is coccidia, I hope you can find a solution, but from my understanding, once you have it on the property it is almost impossible to get rid of it, so lots of treatments. Please let us know what you here from Clemson on the new treatment, and then let us know what that treatment is.

I still havent heard back from Mark on the millies d'anvers, but hope to here from him soon. HE doesnt check the IM on the d'anver site often.

Samantha, woo hoo on your shipped eggs arriving, I know you cant wait to get them hatched, and now you are going to get the birds from Phoneman, woo hoo. Safe travels.

This weekend I have an obedience trial in simpsonville, and we will be working on fence and chicken housing. We have eggs on lockdown.

HAve a great day.

Hope you hear about the d'anvers and get them home soon! Good luck with the hatch and the trials! Sounds like a busy week-end! I sure hope we have nice weather again!

So the vet at clemson was zero help on the drug I was asking about using for coccidia. Oh well! One of the vets I work with contacted a vet friend of theirs and gave me the ok to use it. So we'll see...

So sorry that dreadful stuff is plagueing you! I can't offer advice on that but If I can help scrub, scrape, move, or burn just holler!

I FINALLY got my babies today. They are so cute and my BO and Golden Comet are so sweet.

PS~ If anyone is looking for Cornish X's, the TSC in Rock Hill has a couple dozen for $0.50 :)

One of my first girls here were/are Golden Comets. I only have 2 hens. They have always been so sweet and calm and lay a really nice large light brown egg nearly every day...including this past winter (course it really was a mild winter)! They are a great steady calm laying bird to have! You will enjoy them!

I haven't been around for a while. My hubby had emergency quadruple bypass. We never had a clue he even had a problem.
Missed like 1600 posts. I don't talk much, but I lurk a lot.
During all of this I has some silkies hatch. Does anyone know what color this chick is?

So sorry to hear about the health problems but glad he's doing better now. I have no idea about the color of the chick. Silkie colors confuse me. It's very unusual, I bet it'll be beautiful.

Mini WhiteChocolate Cupcakes....a lady at work made these for my bday at work.

OK i sux at the whole is it a Roo/Pullet Game...But I really think this is a Roo
it's 4 weeks today and the comb is larger than anybodies and it's a hint of pink.

Now this one I am praying it to be a pullet, but I fear that all that will not keep this one a girl...but maybe

it's feathers are the coolest color and even if a roo I'm pretty sure this chick is gonna be a beautiful chicken.
Oh I had to hold cause it's VERY busy and will not be still. I'll try later on for a better pic.

More pics later!!! Love the babies!

Happy Birthday Yancy! I LOVE the cupcakes. What a cute idea! Those chicks are too small for me to guess. It's easier if you have a few to compare with, then you can usually see if the comb is bigger/redder than the others. I really like the little blue chick, hope it's a girl.
