I love it!! Good Luck on the Construction!!!! I can just see...Hangin Baskets, rocking Chairs, tea pitchers and wine glasses! Oh and it's big enough for a swing!!! LOVE IT!!!!

While my DD is letting me get on the computer I wanted to post some pictures of our porch in the making--I talk about it so much I want you to see what I was talking about. Wish DH would get this thing done as it has been in the unfinished stages for some time now.





If he would just put these skills to making more chicken pens. Yes, he is doing most of this by himself. The trusses he did have several friends and family members helping put those up. This will be so nice in the summer! Can't wait for DH to see that first Guinea on the railing!

Oh WOW! Now THAT is a porch! IDK...I am thinking the first Guinea up there will be the first invited for the cook-out!!!

Phoneman, congrats on the new little girl. I am guessing she is here now. Samantha, love the sign, you did a great job painting and hubby hanging it up. As for that porch, LOVE IT! I know you will really enjoy it.

Patsey, thanks for the offer. Our yougest is 5 weeks. I am not sure what to do. She/he seems to be doing ok.

Hello BYC friends! Sure is a gorgeous day! Happily I am now on my OWN internet connection! YAY! no more borrowing! Anyways, my little d'Anvers are still in the "chicken hospital." Both have been treated for coccidia. The hen, "Sarah" is doing great. She's such a character. "Abraham" was feeling really fiesty the past couple days but seems down today. I'm not sure what the outcome will be for him. I'm determined not to give up on d'Anvers though either way. I love the breed and hope to keep a couple colors of them. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he'll make a turn for the better.

Also wanted to share a picture of my little call duck's nest! She laid her first egg on friday and another yesterday! I had taken the first egg from her but when I saw she was actually making a nest I gave it back. Maybe she'll go broody all on her own! I've read that they sometimes aren't great broodies and will abandon the nest halfway through incubation...so I'm keeping a close eye on her. If she doesn't decide to sit on them, I guess they'll go in the inucbator!

My call duck is an excellent mother. She got tired of me stealing her eggs, she kept moving her nest. She finally hid her nest under the duck house. LOL Now she's sitting, not sure how many eggs she has, probably only 2 or 3. Last year she sat on 3 eggs, hatched 2 and had 1 survive. Those tiny ducks are so little when they hatch, the first baby walked thru chicken wire and I found it 3 chicken yards away in a rainstorm. After she raised her baby last year she quit laying for the season. I was trying to get as many ducklings as possible so I am incubating her eggs. I hope to have some hatch.

Hi everybody! I'm Tabitha - my husband is from Beaufort, SC {we live in VA}... didn't know if anybody was close by? All his family is still down there, his brother just added to his coop - they have 16 now. We're working with 6 right now, eventually going to add more.

I'm in the upstate, Spartanburg county.

Heidi, I love the porch! I know you can't wait til it's finished. But my guineas never come near the front porch, the chickens are a different story. They think the porch is just for them, they even sit in my rocking chair and watch it rain.

DixieBeast, I love the egg sign. Very cute and colorful, good job! I have an egg sign on my mail box but it's not removable. I've threatened to take it down as it seems to draw customers when I have the least amount of time.
