I had 4 Porcelain Silkie chicks hatch out and 3 more lavender Muscovy.
And surprise, surprise I had several Ameraucanas and Olive Eggers hatch out in my Sportsman yesterday that had only been in there (according to my chart) for 2 weeks.
I collect eggs every day, know how many eggs come from each tractor every day, mark each egg as I collect it and my incubator chart is color coded and dated. How the heck that happened, I have no earthly idea. I can be ditzy sometimes though and during this time of year when I am up til midnight and back up at 6 am, wrapping eggs, answering emails and sorting orders I can get some stuff messed up, I suppose. As long as it is only mine, that's okay. I would never, ever want to mess up a customers order.

Gosh, I wish now I had gotten more Porcelain Silkie eggs. As they hatch, I find I have way too few. I may have to ride up and visit Miss Sandy! LOL

After a long day's work yesterday, we finished the coop!!! We had to clean up by flashlight. The chicks were fussing really bad about the intrusion into their bedtime. We got the last of the pineshavings into their coop and put them in for the first time. They immediately bedded down and went to sleep. It was so cute!
This morning I opened the pop door for the first time. They stood at the top making their "What is it?" chirp. Well that was until the sisters crowded them into going down the ramp. Today I pick up 3- 1 year old laying hens. It will be interesting to see how they all get along. I am going to keep them separate overnight. I am getting a Black Copper Maran, SLW, and BO. I can't wait. First eggs tomorrow!

While my DD is letting me get on the computer I wanted to post some pictures of our porch in the making--I talk about it so much I want you to see what I was talking about. Wish DH would get this thing done as it has been in the unfinished stages for some time now.





If he would just put these skills to making more chicken pens. Yes, he is doing most of this by himself. The trusses he did have several friends and family members helping put those up. This will be so nice in the summer! Can't wait for DH to see that first Guinea on the railing!

Awesome! Your hubby does great work!
I can see so many beautiful chicken pens in all that wood. (He probably would want to kick me if he heard that!)
