Happy Easter everyone! We have mainly been hatching our silkie, cochin and polish eggs but one day i just grabbed a few big eggs and tossed them in the bator. the eggs layed in lock down for bout 4 or 5 days and forgotten about. Today we we return from spending the night in Columbia with the fam and found a black lil chick hatched. The father is a Polish that replaced my mean lil bantam rooster when he died. The mother has to be eithe a RIR or a barred rock. Should be intresting to see how it turns out maybe a mot top barred rock lol

I get sulfur at Lowes in the garden dept or at my feed store. I prefer the granulated over the powder but beggars are not choosers.

Question: I am planning a renovation.....regarding fencing/hardware what is better/stronger to use for posts? Wood/metal t posts?

I would go with wood. I like my fencing with wood posts much better than my metal posts but one does what one must with what one has!

For strength, I'd go with wooden posts.
For temporary, paddock or semi- permanent fencing, T-Posts work well.

What are you trying to fence? And do you want to keep something in - or something OUT?

I am guessing Nikki is re-doing her Silkie runs?? She coops them at night in some sturdy and very cutsie coops! Wish I had something like hers! She has a great set-up AND some very awesome birds! Course' she is awesome too!!!

Beautiful little chickadees! I like the blue headed blond also...lol...pretty colors on these for sure!

Nikki needs to protect her babies!!!

My "plan" is to use tall wooden post. To start I will put fencing only around the bottom. Later (when there is more dollas) I will add a shed style top. Followed by fencing to the top and enclosing the back. I have coops and temp runs. Just wanting some added security . ***size yet to be determined.......
