well, the wire isn't going to work. But I just had to get on here and fill y'all in on what I just figured out. I haven't been able to get ANYTHING to hatch this year and I do believe I just figured out why. I got my expensive new Brisnea incubator back in early April...I guess it's my fault for trusting the dadgum thermometer, but I finally put another thermometer in there last night and guess what??? While the digital display on the incubator reads a solid 99.5, the thermometer I put in there is only at like 92. Just lovely! So I really really hope Brisnea has great customer service because they'll be having a conversation with me in a couple hours when they open. Gotta love throwing away close to $100 on hatching eggs and then finding this out...at least I know it isn't something I've been doing..

Get um Gal!!!!!

Those baby bluebirds are so cute, Sam! I can't wait to see them before they leave the nest!

Lauren, I so hope you get the bator issues straightened out! How horrid to lose so many eggs.

I have probably missed a few more things. I just get to skim through on here. Busy, busy!

Trixie congratulations on your new to be bambino. That will liven things up for sure!

Went out to check the nesting boxes this afternoon. I found a suprise! The chicks that we purchased in late January were getting close to laying age. It appears that one of them started. The kids told me that Boadicea was singing a lot earlier today. She is the largest of our young hens. The egg was very porous and had a very thin shell. The top egg was from our Wyandotte- Henny Penny.
How eggciting!

That is exciting!!! I can only imagine how great it is to start getting your own eggs!!! Almost as exciting as watching them hatch!!

OMG, cuteness overload! The D'Anver chicks arrived today! They are in with our newly hatched, this weekend, guineas. I love the puffy faces and the clean legs :)
WootWoot! So glad you found your D'Anvers! I know you have been wanting and looking for a while! Let's see some pictures!!!

YAYY I have a call duck baby!! (may have more but Miss Broody doesn't like me messing with her at the moment) Finally something good! I talked to Brisnea today on my lunch break and she told me what to do to reset the incubator which did bump up the temp a few degrees but it's still not reading right...guess I'll have to call them back on Thursday when I can actually be in front of the bator.

Wishing you good luck with the Brinsea and customer support...maybe reset a couple more times while waiting to call them back? Give at least 12 hours between each reset...I hear a LOT of good things about the Brinseas! Hope you work it out! I know I have been having the same problems with hatches just stopping right at hatch time...so disappointing and heartbreaking!!!

Yeah, I did a lot of research before buying the Brinsea...I got the Octagon 20 advance ex package..and I lovee it if only I could figure out what's going on! So far, I've reset it twice. I'll check the temp again in the morning. Hopefully it'll resolve itself because after spending that much on an incubator I expect it to work! I had to save for a couple months to get it!
