South Carolina

My OE pair...she was suppose to be a French Copper Maran purchased locally from a breeder but she has muffs and beard and lays a nice olive colored egg but since she has turned into a beautiful healthy gal after I raised her from days old...I have fallen in LOVE!!! And then Samantha had this awesome Roo she gave (OK...OK...loaned) me and now I love the pair! Wanting another OE gal to add to them!

And he is still coloring in!! Give him 6 weeks and see what he will be!!! She is such a nice gal too...I enjoyed her visit!!

HEIDI!!! Great to hear from you and how things are going for you! Good to hear about your hatchings and sounds like you really have it "going on!". Looks like you have added some and have a very interesting mix! My little flock of Silver White Dorking are growing nicely and getting close to laying. I have 2 roos and 7 hens and hope to build from there. They are thriving and still all together. I plan to separate them soon so when they lay I will have 2 small groups. I also still have 11 extra roos growing from my original hatch of eggs! Isn't it funny how many boys a person can end up with?!?! The Roos are still coming into their plumage but are beginning to look really good! here are a couple pics:

Patsy, you have some very pretty hens there and your boys are looking good too. I will have to get you a picture of my 2 boys. They still follow me everywhere and sometimes bite me if they want food. Yes, they are spoiled! They are fun birds to have around!

I'm at the Southern coastal tip of South Carolina & have some Roo's that need a new home.
I have 1 Wheaten Marans roo (shown left)
& I THINK i have 2 black copper marans roos (still need to sex these, but this is my best guess)
The boys in our batch need a new home since we like to keep our neighbors happy!
They are 4 weeks old this Sunday (hatched on Mother's Day)
Please PM me if you are interested - since it is so hard to keep up with all these posts here!

TooterTown is closed this week and next week due to Phillip having to be out west for an auctioneer thing. but other then that. you can find me there most sales. right now though, I warn you. it is a buyers market. I still get fairly decent prices for mine but a lot of folks do not.. Just make sure your birds are in good shape and looking good and you'll do okay for this time of year.
The sale in Pelzer is competitive in price too. on tuesday nights. just have a lot of junk to wade through there. and they mix it in with the chickens too. so if you like junk. they have a diverse collection to look at. ( I got 20 Dollars for a Barred Rock rooster I
I would have taken $12 for 3 weeks ago )
Ducks remain high. their prices did not fall off much. Tooter Town is loaded with them. so is Pelzer and Cawtaba sales.
Pelzer has a sale... wow that is so much closer to me.. can you tell me where it is.. Im in laurens

thanks Pink
