Here are my babies mixed in with my older two--and my dog! I can't decide if my dog is in protection mode or planning his next meal!

I hope your dog in in protection mode! Certainly looks relaxed in that other photo.

We were down at Kris and Robert's today (OMG!) and her female Doberman was protective over the turkey poults. She licked them and loved them and when the other dog came over Kris had a time getting them in house before a fight broke out. That is my kinda dog! Terry so wanted to bring the Dobe's home. We had a great time down there doing all kinds of great bird stuff and wasted a good part of their day talking their ears off. Okay, I talked, Terry observed. But I had a blast!

Chicken TV is someof the best entertainment around. Especially when one of them finds a bug, or has a mealworms. Spaghetti noodles are fun, too!

Amen! We introduced our Libby to the new babies tonight through the hardware cloth first, then let them hang out together for about an hour. So cute watching them play chase with a pine shaving. It was like watching hockey that pine chip being passed amongst them so quickly! My kids and I enjoyed it! Highly addicting.

OK I took pics of the chicks today...And I got me a Blue Barred Rock ...90% sure it's a Roo... I had one of these last year a Large Blue Barred Rock and it was AWESOME..but I had to send it to freezer camp I don't want to do this one so I'm up for any takers. Wished it was a pullet but I know it's not...still wishing

Here's all three. I would love for the brown one to be a pullet(cause this is the 5th brown chick I've raised and all have been boys) Praying Girl. The Black is a BlkJG lookin like a pullet(I hope)
See the Blue has a much Larger Comb and it's eyes look like Roo.

Better view of the brown one and Look how Awesome the Blue BR is!!!

And if you notice there are only three chicks, Lucy's baby that hatched was killed by a brick that the momma hen scratched up and flipped it over on it. So Sad!!!

Aye.. I've been away due to my crazy work schedule and internet issues..so I had to scroll through all the new post here.. So much to catch up on when you're away for awhile. I loved seeing all the pictures in the post..super cute babies and chickens.. So where do I begin? Gosh... Welcome to all the newcomers... Patsy i'm so sorry to hear about your dog.. it is really heartbreaking to lose a four-legged family member.. Kris & Robert congrats on the new turkey poults (hope I spelled that correctly).. Avonshire that is a nice little set-up you have there. I too hope that the dog is just in protection mode.... ok so if I forgot anything I do apologize...

So now for my news.. Today was my first day off in six days (yay) I spent most of the day doing not much of anything LOL... However, tonight was lockdown time for the eggs in the bator so right before the kids bedtime we went in to candle them before locking them down and found a really awesome surprise.. It seems we have an early bird.. One of the BLRW eggs has pipped already and is chirping.. Yay! but they are 3 days early.. We also have a lot of activity too.. we have a bunch of rocking from a lot of the eggs in the bator.. Unfortunately I have to return to work tomorrow so it looks like I'll be missing this hatching (most likely), but on the bright side my DH will be off and can supervise for me :) I'll post pics as soon as they hatch.. I can't wait!!

Super Excited!!
