Aww Rhonda...I want to give you a BIG WELCOME to here but hate the first posts you have concerns you having trouble!!! So sorry! I hear it is kinda hard to find a vet that knows chickens...maybe one that works with exotic birds? There are a lot of experienced people here that has had chickens for a long time and are all very helpful! Maybe if you tell us what is going on we may can offer some helpful advice?I am from Summerville, SC 30 miles west of Charleston can anyone recomend a chicken vet think I have problems and dont know what to do have asks at feed stores with no luck. Weird. Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong name or they changed it. It used to come in white paper bags with a cheap label and was definitely sulfur - cleaned up a few broken bags. Now it seems to be a fancy plastic resealable bag. Of course its been a few years since I was in college & worked at Home Depot. Seems like products that really work always get reformulated into stuff that marginally works.
UPDATE on the Emergency Hatch: 3 have hatched so far. Thank Goodness that one chick isn't alone anymore.
Well theres those big hatcheries that can overnight ducks to you. You're a lot closer so it probably wouldn't cost very much. Is that a possibility at all? How far away are you anyways? Maybe I could just make the drive. And welcome to our SC thread!![]()
Wish you weren't so far away, I have a pretty flock of jumbo Pekins that lay really well and I am hatching off some ducklings now.
Here is yesterday mornings hatcher contents. Well, part of it. The other side is bantam and LF chicks. The ducklings are Pekin, Cayuga and there is a Pearl Guinea keet. This hatcher runs 24/7-365. It only stops for about a half hour every two weeks for cleaning. Come October it will have been running 3 years.
