South Texas Classic- La Grange

Phew, thank you! Yes, we did send our P/T testing form along with the entries :).
The show sounds like it will be lots of fun. The food that they are going to serve sounds wonderful too! Isn't there also supposed to be a raffle and silent auction?

They usually have a raffle and Auction of poultry items.
Keep in mind that this is not a big show but a good spring show. Probably around 500 birds.
This is on the fairgrounds towards the back, just look for cars and activity. A lot of times there is horse activity ( trail ride start) in the same area. When you come in the gate go to the right.

For those visiting it is free. The judging starts about 9 am Saturday and last till about 2 or 3 depending. The best time to visit is between 9 and 2. I figure the raffle/ auction will be about 1. The isles are open for viewing unless there is judging going on and then you stay away from the judge and let him do his job.
There will be coop cards on each cage and it will have a number instead of an exhibitors name. They will have exhibitors lists at a desk and just look up the number and name to see who the bird belongs to. The Breed and variety will also be on the card.
The judge will mark each card, the abbreviations are: BV- Best of Variety, RV Reserve of Variety, BB- Best of Breed, RB Reserve of breed. The numbers 1,2,3,4 will be 1st cock, 2nd hen etc. He will then pick a class champion ( American, English, feathered leg etc) and then they will go to a champion row.
At Champion row he will pick Champion and reserve - Bantam and Large Fowl and then of Show.

I don't think there will be a lot of birds for sale but there might. If so they will probably in the parking lot in the back of peoples trucks
