Southern CA Swap meet-up / Funday 9/24/11

Hi everyone! I'm Kim from North Tustin. I just spent the last hour+ catching up on this thread.

I had chickens growing up (in Riverside), but am new to keeping them as an adult. I have 6 nine-week old ladies (are they pullets yet?) and 6 babies I picked up from the feed store yesterday. Truly, truly addicted.

If the meet up is still on for September 24, I'd love to come and meet everyone! What's the etiquette? Do I have to bring a chicken? Can I just bring myself? Bring cash if I want to "accidentally" come home with more chickens?

Look forward to meeting you all, you seem like a fun bunch (from what I've read on this thread)!

and YES we are gonna be getting together FOR SURE! We are a great ecclectic bunch of people who happen to LOVE LOVE LOVE our chickens! Bring 1/2/3 or more chickens to show off. Definetly bring $$$$$as it will be hard NOT to go home without another chicken.

I always bring extra boxes for those "Impulse" purchases.....
Just bring yourself, a sack lunch and beverage, your chickens [we can guess if boy or girl] $$$$ and a smile!

Hey Kim,

You can definitely come to the meet-up without bringing chickens with you, I won't be bringing any with me this time. Definitely bring some $ for impulse buys and a box/carrier of some sort would be good to stash in your car "just in case" a chicken wants to follow you home.

Everyone is super awesome and friendly, and there are always some beautiful birds to drool over. I second the recommendation to bring some beverages/water with you, and it doesn't hurt to throw a folding chair in the car with you (we usually get the pavilion, which has table and benches, but there's no guarantee we'll get it again).

ME TOOOOO it would make my hobby a little more reasonable, instead of hearing you are getting another chicken because????

Ok on another note,
I will have I think at least 5-8 super well started serama cockerels for sale at the meet up , all good type and excellent breeding
I think three adult red pyle modern game bantams and 5 MGB chicks. I would like 25 each adult and 10 each chick if someone wants all $80.00

I may bring some other sutuff as well If interested give me a shout out!!

man... i have been hearing that for 5 or 6 years that i haven't been working... they're like... do you really need a rack with 45 snakes...? and then i have to lie about the chickens... "nah, my friend bought this one for me..." LOL... or, or, or... "no i didn't buy this wood, i found it all in the back yard... i just cleaned it up really good..."

OMG...

i have a fishing buddy like that... i was taking the fish off HIS hook and this happened...

yep... that's my thumb... it took me 5 minutes to drive the sharp part out of the other side of the thumb... it just snagged on the side and didn't go all the way thru... so i grabbed some pliers and went to work... i was surprised how hard it was to pierce thru my thumb... BTW, i was a professional body piercer for years... the little kids were just staring at me because i wasn't making any faces or noises... just sweating... they kept asking me if it hurt... and i was like... YES!... it hurts a LOT!!!... but they didn't believe me... so i cut the loop part, and my friend had to take a picture... i was all mad... after that, i threw the guts of this other fish at his face... man, i have no patience for men that act gayer than me...

LOL...

Cara, I will be going over to Broken Horn before the meet and getting boxes [BHorn is only a few miles from my house] so if you can't get any, I will have that covered.
