you really need to go to kate's house... she's so friendly, and it will be great to see her this weekend... all of her birds are gorgeous...
That's what I'm afraid of!!!
Hey, I sold all my Buff Orp, and Barred Rock chicks today. Hubby is less mad at me now.
That means I have nothing to bring for sale on Saturday, but that's okay. I didn't get any PMs about interest in those chicks. They were ADORABLE, BIG, HEALTHY and SWEET
! If you like good layers, you MISSED OUT!!
On another note, my new coop is almost finished!! I'm refurbishing an old 8'x10' gazebo that we don't use, and turning it into a coop/ small run for my layers. I let them free range when someone is home, which is 5 days a week, but they needed a cooler spot to reside in when we're gone. Those big fluffy birds just don't take the heat well. Their current coop is adorable, but in too hot a spot. I think I'll move that old coop under my cherry tree (if my DH brings home a pallet jack) and put some banties in there. It would be perfect for some little chickens.... I have 3 pairs right now.. 2- OEGB, and 1 Serama pair. I just hesitate to put roos together, because I don't want them to hurt each other, or damage their feathers, as they are all my best birds, and the ones I will potentially be showing. I'll have to talk to all of you that show, about how you manage your hens and roos.
OCSeramas, I'm really excited to see your birds, the ones for sale, and the ones not for sale too...
