Shuizar209 the orps are so cute.It is hard to keep little hands off there cute little fuzzy butts.
Just want to rub them and pet them and kiss them and squeeze them and call them george.

BYC people rock
everyone was such a pleasure to talk with and to share stories.Hubby likes chickens but to talk chickens for 7 hours straight is not something he can do.

Just going out on a limb here, but I would BET that B&E feed would be willing to let us have the event in their side yard. It would just mean more people coming to their place, good for PR. I will ask them this week if it is a possibility.

Is that in Norco too?

I thought the raffle was great too!! I think it would also be fun to have a mock "chicken talent show and beauty contest" with prizes for loudest crow, best strut, fluffiest butt, most handsome rooster, etc.

If others wanted to step up and take the lead on organizing something, I'm happy to be a helper again. We can give Froggie a break until Fall....

Yes B&E is in Norco on 6th street east of the 15. Nice feed/saddle shop/everything for your pet livestock store..

That is a good idea onthespot. My "extended" family of chickens includes 2 roos that I would love to see have a new home. One is a [I think banty size] adult 1yr+ white silkie and Squawky is a 9 month EE roo. Both are used to being handled.

YES, YES, YES I like chicken talent show / beauty contest / etc. etc........ THAT would be fun!!!!! MAN I will win the louded crow contest hands down with my "ghetto blaster" extended family roo Limpy!!!!

Sorry so late to post. Had a GREAT time. Just wished I could have talked to everyone. Maybe next time.

It was so much fun to see all of the birds. I was tempted more than once. The raffle was so much fun. Thanks to all of the generous donations.

I woke up this morning to a crow. I am not allowed to have roosters where I live. I have a Black Split to Lavender male from Blehm/Smith birds. I would have to look it up but I believe he was hatched in January. I can give the exact dates. The eggs were from CrystalCreek here on BYC. He is the sweetest roo I have raised therefore I would like to find him a home instead of the alternative. I will be in Norco tomorrow or San Diego the end of the week.

FROG: Thanks for all of you hard work and I am so sorry to hear about your mother.

our local reef club meets at this one fish store's parking lot... the fish store donates some stuff for the raffle, and gives the members 10-15% off that day... people buy all kinds of stuff so the store loves it... it's also cool because the restroom is clean and it's in an atmosphere where we're always in anyways...

and i like the idea of giving sue a break and having someone else decide the date and stuff together... maybe joey should do it..???¿¿¿¿¿

LOL...

B&E Feed would be a great idea. They have always been very welcoming to the greyhound rescue and allowing them to do Meet&Greets there.

Sue,

My prayers and thoughts are with you, it sounds liike your Mom indeed is a warrier, may she be in comfort with those who love her.
Thank you for all the hard work.
Sorry, Didn't get on here till now, But I appreciate all who made this meet up possible.

monthly would rock... but getting stuff for the raffle every month would be hard... unless there's an actual club function with sponsors and such... kind of like the LAPC... i went to one of their events/meets last month... some people had chickens... but it was like our event, but just in the parking lot... they made like an instant swapmeet in the parking lot, and then went inside to raffle off some goods...

ouch sue... i'm so sorry... i lost my young mother from cancer 12 years ago... hardest thing in the world to go through... but i would call this 20+ year battle a victory... i always tell people that cancer has to be fought... it's a huge battle, and every day you earn from the battle, it's a victory... sadly, my mother gave up and was taken in after two years of fighting...

i hope you and your family the best sue... ♥♥♥♥
