My crew are all Rocky Mountain high born and raised, but being spoiled and pampered with an insulated coop and plastic covered pen, they all refuse to come out of the pen if they spy any white stuff out there.
The exception is when I toss some tender greens onto the snow. They'll brave getting their toes icy if there's some kind of food motivation. But then they're right back in their protected pen again where it's always warm and dry with no wind chill factor.
If we should get a real blizzard and, horrors, snow should blow through the cracks and drift in the corners, they'll avoid those snowy spots meticulously.
