Southern New ENgland 4-H Poultry Show

Ya, I know all that stuff and I get the magazine. the weird thing is, though, that was only my second time AND I had a standard bird who was kinda flighty. This will be my 6th time now, I have a bantam bird who's super docile, and she poses well. I got judged by that guy last year, and I didn't like him AT ALL!!! I like The Connecticut Poultry Breeder's Society Show in May, however their website isn't there anymore so IDK when it is......

I've gotten so much better at showmanship, I placed 4th place out of 14th people at the Northeaster Poultry Congress Show in Massachusetts, which is amazing for me

nice job! i'm not even sure what i got for that show this year, they were sooooo confusing about it an i totally missed the awards ceramony! i really didn't like the girl who judged it though, she treated me like it was my first time showing! that was my 7th! i mean i got 2nd in PREMIER showmanship at the uconn show last year! so annoying!

anyway, what class are you entering for uconn? i'll be in senior advanced and to be perfectly honest, i'm terrified! why does that class have to be first?! AHHH! i'm just hoping to place, let alone win! but, if i had to guess my friend, laura, who's been showing longer than any of us since her dad's the club leader, will win that one. my friend olivia will get either 5th or 3rd (she's cursed, i swear. she's never gotten anything else! she'll probably win for the poster, though.) i'll place either 6th or 2nd (i think i'm cursed, too

). my little sister will probably win her class. she thinks she's terrible at showmanship, but the very first time she showed at uconn, she won!

you never answered the feather tracts question

five times means your probably advanced, but you could squeeze into a intermediate class if you wanted. however, as my 4-h club leader constantly reminds us, you won't get better if you don't push yourself a little and go into higher classes. it novice is 1 time or less, intermediate is 2-3 times and 4+ is advanced. we aren't sure if they only count the times shown at uconn or all shows, so i always count other shows as half..... cloverbud, junior and senior go by age. senior's 14 and over, but i don't remember the others. i think junior is probably like 10-13 and cloverbud is 9 and under, but i'm not sure.

My daughter has a cockeral and pullet she'd like to show. She is 11 and has never shown before. However, she is a smart kid and I'm sure could do research and learn what she needs to in order to answer questions. She isn't a 4H club member, however. Is this a good show for her first time?? Any advice for her would be great! These are the birds she'd be showing. They are currently 5 months old.

I think you may need to be in 4-H to be in the show..... I'm the president of a 4-H Club, the Chicken Chasers.... What town are you in??? If your close enough, you can join our club. If you aren't, I can find you another one
