Southern States Chick Feed

I bought some Chick Start-N-Grow (medicated) from Southern States Ag supply. It says that it has 19% crude protein. Is this right for 2 week old chicks? I thought I read they need 24% protein.

19% sounds right. The higher nuber might of been game bird starter.

I kept mine on the same feed until 16 weeks, then I switched to Southern States layer.

The medicated chick starter at my Southern State Ag store is 23% protein and only has Bacitracin for the active ingredient, I was wanting Amprol so I just switched to Nutrena which has the Amprol, but I am not a big fan of Nutrena,seems my chicks don't eat it as well for some reason...boggles me, unless it is the color factor(Nutrena is much darker in color).
