Not sure what predators are in your area (I'm in the woods here). But your coup wall edges look to not meet flush with each other, ..... I mention this cuz I had mine on an old coup with the same kind of wood walls & even tho I had walls meeting flush & screwed in tightly, I had predators picking at the wood & chewing to gain entry. Your creativity is wonderful & if you would add the concrete for a stucco wall look it'd look even more authentic & amazing. Plus add Alot of strength to your walls & corners. & if that's the home stye in your area you may even get asked to build a coup or two for others.

Chickenfanatic,

Your posting was very comical. It had me chuckling.

Your coop and run are really cute but my only concern is it doesn't appear to be a large enough space for all the chickens shown in the picture. It looks as though each section is about 8' x 8' which is a total of 128 sq feet which would minimally house about 12 standard sized chickens.

I have found that my chickens have been most happy with a minimum of 15 sq. feet per bird coop/run space but this is with ADDITIONAL yard space as well. My coop is 8' x 8' with an 8' x 16' run for 12 birds. They also have about 1/2 acre wooded/fenced area to roam. Until recently, I had 20 standard sized chickens in that space and it proved to be just too much. As your chickens get larger you might end up having problems with egg eating, cannibalism, fighting etc.

Just something to consider.

i think we r gonna go ahead and stucco it and yes sianara its not big enough for the birds there they were just moved outside at 10 weeks of age and we are in the process of building some more of these to make more room thanks for all the great input and the comments we appreciate it
