I was just wondering if anybody was interested in ordering grass fed beef? I've ordered from this farm in the past, and I don't think I can go back to conventional beef...so I think we'll be ordering again as soon as they harvest. DH and I cannot eat 1/2 a cow by ourselves though...looking to split the order with some other local folks.
PM me if you are interested! http://www.howafarms.com/
Anyone close to Grant? My husband and I want to buy a few chicks and maybe ducks some time next week when we get back in town. We still have to build the tractor, so young chicks are preferred for now, until we have the coop up. We're looking for someone to sell us some chicks/ducks that haven't been fed medicated feed, as we want to go as au naturel as possible.
Tips/advice on building a tractor (and rabbit hutches) would be greatly appreciated. We're thorough researchers and can bleed the internet and paper resources dry, but we'd much prefer taking an "apprentice" type role and being able to interact and ask questions rather than just read and fill in the blanks by more endless hours of research. I hope I'm making sense right now but being pregnant leaves me getting blank stares some times. I guess my brain just doesn't work right these days.
If anyone could point us in the right direction, we would much appreciate it! We have no friends/family in the area, so we're out of luck for resources and connections.

I am in Titusville and I have 2.5 week old chicks on non-medicated feed. They are mixed breed (leghorn, EE, RIR, Cochin, sussex, white rock). You are welcome to as many as you would like. I have 8 that need homes

Oh and I am waiting for three ducklings to hatch as I type this
chicken people probably have gardens too, so I'm asking to trade jubilee, goldie and bicolor tomato plants along with oregano, thyme, culantro and "mystery" hot pepper plants for a couple of RIR hens at leat 6 weeks old. Only 1 of my RIR's survived the dog attack and we really miss them.
If nobody has girls to share, I will still give away t hese plants, way too many plants for my small garden. At least 30 tomato plants. If you are not familiar with yellowtomatoes, they have less acid and to me they are sweeter. I like the heritage plants or pass alongs.............ready to pass some more along. Really hate to wste them.
I can help you with that. I have a nice collection of RIR girls, not a thing wrong with them, lay nicely, all 1 yr to just laying age. Only reason to rehome is 1 your grand daughter and 2 my egg customers prefer the colored eggs of my EE girls. So hatching more of them currently.
We are north end of Merritt Island, would love to have you come see the girls.
I "chickened" out. Told my son and let him tell my Erin about her girls. He was as upset as we still are. We did luck out in 1 way, Erin's 3 favorite chickens survived.
Thank you all for your kind words. It seems silly to be so upset, so we really appreciate the groups support.
Was so nice to meet you and your husband this morning. Hope you had a safe drive home & the girls settle in nicely for you. Looking forward to putting the plants in the ground for the garden.
Thank you so much for sharing your girls. They traveled well, pecking order has already been established. Both John, I and our neighbors thank you. They are already being spoiled.
John really liked your D'uccle girls, thinks they are very pretty.
