Space Coast Chicks?

Geepy or anybody else, I need to give away these new additions to my flock. With summer coming we will be gone for several weeks and our older (we're late 60's early 70's)neighbor who is co=owner of our flock, just can't handle these pretty little birds. They like to escape the pen and get into our gardens. They are beautiful, 2 Golden Lakenvelders and 1 Sicilian Buttercups. They need a good home with room to roam and our yards aren't fenced.

I wish I had room, I hatched 25 a couple of months ago and now have 5 turkey hens setting on nest, I'm running out of room.

I am new to the forum and to chickens :). I received six 4 month old girls and their coop this weekend. Now I need to build a run. Let the fun begin

Great way to start morning, cool and a friend came and got those 4 naughty girls that like to roam. He has a triple lot with stockade fence................they should be happy. I know my neighbor is glad she no longer has to guard her garden.

We are going to Pensacola for Easter if doctor releases DH this AM and when we return I will resume my search for 3-4 more colored egg laying hens to replace the ones the dog got.

Shelly we finally got an egg (2 actually) from your RIR's but shells very soft and chicken stepped in and broke them both. Neighbor got some food with oyster shell in it, hope that helps to harden eggs. They are so cute. Yesterday getting ready to feed them tomato scraps and one actually jumped up and took piece out of my hand. Chickens jump is hilarious to watch.

I have oyster in their coop here for them to eat as they want/need I use a rabbit style feeder hung on the wall for it and one for grit so they stay dry. If they hadn't had any since moving it will help and do so rather quickly. They LOVE tomatoes lol cherry tomatoes equal chicken rugby here as do seedless grapes. They also would get a grapefruit or orange from our trees as a treat when they were ripe. Lettuce, spinach, carrot, cucs, blueberries and strawberries.

The plants are growing like mad and doing very well. Cant wait to watch the colored tomatoes set on.

Yes, chickens here play chicken soccer for tomatoes, so I cut scraps into small pieces so they can all get some. I do make sure that sweet Liza gets hers separate as she can't jump like the others. She is getting to be 1 spoiled little black hen. Their absolute favorite treat is red crepe myrtle blossoms. There is a tree close to the run and they jump for flowers blowing in the wind. Granddaughters would gather handful of flowers, take a camp stool and go sit in yard, chickens would jump in their laps for flowers. So cute and fun for all. They don't like broccoli, brussel sprouts and will only eat cabbage if shredded. Did I say spoiled, pampered chickens. Neighbor gives them rice and oatmeal which they love.
