I was wondering the max amount of chickens I can have in a coop that's 7x3, 7 nest boxes and lots of floor room. They are just in there to sleep and lay otherwise they are free range in a fenced in area of 80x80 ft. Both standard and bantam sizes

Welcome to the site. The general accepted minimum is 4 sq. ft. per standard sized bird in the coop and 10 sq. ft. per standard sized bird in the run. Bantams could have half this. Whether or not they'll be allowed to/how often they'll free range and how often they'll be in the coop is something to factor in as well. As you'll be free-ranging them and they'll only be in the coop for laying and roosting, you could have some leeway with these numbers.

Best of luck with your chickens, and do check out the learning centre and if you have any more questions, just post in the appropriate part of the forum: https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Welcome to BYC!

X2 4 to 5 square feet per bird in the coop, 10 square feet per bird in the run. Here is an article from our learning center that has some helpful info on space requirements of chickens...

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!
