Spanish in Schools

For those who do want to learn a new language, we've been using powerglide for a year now, and it's worked pretty well (well enough for me to follow gossipy phone calls at the DMV). Not too expensive, and it's far more enjoyable than my highschool classes were.

Kids are doing spanish 2 this year, and next year we switch for 2 years of french, then 2 of mandrain

I can read Norwegian just because of the 3 years of German I took. If you just pay attention its easy to pick up on the little similarities of most European languages.

i don't think spanish, or any other lanfuage other than english should be taught here. i think that english should MANDATORY for foreigeners coming here. "do as the romans do" doesn't seem to apply here. here it's, "do as you please, we'll accomodate you". total BS. my daughters will NOT take spanish class. anyone wishing to speak to them will do so in english or move along.
