This is Lucky, who is really a little miracle chick! "She" is 5 weeks old, and at 2 days old, she survived a brooder fire caused by a clamp-on brooder lamp that fell into the brooder. She was the only surviving chick out of 12. As you can see in one of the pics, she lost the first digits of several of her toes, but this didn't slow her down! She has the best personality, which I am choosing to attribute to our unusual bonding time (lots of topical medications!), instead of the possibility that "she" is a fearless roo! So, two questions...
1) Is this a RIR? She was bought as a buff orpington (not!!), and the last opinions that I got suggested RIR, New Hampshire, or Production Red. Any ideas now that she has more coloration?
2) Pullet or roo? I really need for this chick to be a pullet. We can't have a roo, and I promised her a life of luxury (she earned it!)
