Here's some pics of her throughout her life. She's at the bottom in last pic.

Sorry on lunch break and rolling thru old pics. Terrible combination, but here's another, also 1st day.

And yes, she is staring me down. Also funny story the ducklings would herd the chicks away from danger and even stand between the chicks and the danger. Super brave for sure!

This is my ferocious little silver laced wyandotte chick - this chook attacks and chases after pigeons and even adult hen once but the chick is very sweet and clingy to me - follows me around for a pet.

She wasn't my friendliest before (we've bonded in these trying times) she actually liked boys more! She would do the squat to a little boy my mom was babysitting and nobody else. I would get her pick me up squat every blue moon.(I know why they actually do this, but it's better to say that, then: my hen thinks im a fine rooster, lets make chicks.) But she always timed it when I had my hands full. I think I got to hold her maybe 5 times willingly. Like I said, she's a free spirit.

She dropped some weight for a few days. Went from 54 oz to 51 oz, which saddened me, but she is now up to 53 oz. I know... still waaaay under weight, but progress is progress in my book. She had a major spazz the other day, she went to flap her wings and immediately crumpled she did it so fast she actually flipped onto her back. It scared the crap outta me, but now I'm thinking she did more than hurt her neck.

Which probably explains why is so hard to pick her up for bed time in my shower stall. :hitI have to hold her all around because she flips her head upside down, flaps her wings like crazy, and starts accidentally scratching at her face. I've become a master at holding her sides and feet with one hand so I can open the door. I know Towel burritos is the better method, but I always forget it inside.

I've gotten her to drink water, but I think she avoids it if I'm not there to supervise. I feel honored she trusts me so much, but sad something so natural as drinking, is so scary for her.
She also has become a picky eater! I've been giving her meal worms, scramble eggs, and sunflower seeds as treats (started adding the worms and seeds when she dropped weight). But now she barely touches her layer pellets. I swapped from scrambled eggs to mixing egg yolk into the layer feed, which seems to help.
