Speckled egg layer

I was told she is a Sapphire Olive Egger, but she lays a light brown speckled egg, any ideas as to what she is? East Tennessee checking in

Wow that looks like a turkey egg. The only breed I can think of that lays speckled eggs are welsummers so maybe is part welsummer

I've had multiple speckled brown egg layers- Barred Rock, RIR, Australorp. At least from my experience, it isn't uncommon. Sorry, have no idea what breed she is.

She’s probably a Sapphire Olive Egger that lays brown eggs. Unfortunately it does happen.

Looks exactly like mine who also lays a brown egg unfortunately. Very disappointing.

I totally get how it would be disappointing. I still think it's a really pretty egg! Plus it's probably pretty distinct and you'll be able to tell hers from the others'; I think that can be kinda nice. According to Hoover's, 5% lay brown eggs.
