Speckled egg????

what causes brown eggs to have little tiny white speckles? My BO just started laying about a week ago and I found a speckled brown egg.

I am looking for the same info. I have 1 hen that is laying speckled eggs and the yolk has a black spot in it. The one yesterday was speckled and had a bigger black spot. Could this be worms? Do worms present inside the eggs?

My first egg from our red sex link had some speckles on it, and it was darker. Then they evened out and are just a nice shade brown now. But from what I understand there are some breeds that lay speckled eggs.

From what I've read here, worms CAN show up in the eggs. I have no idea what it looks like though, so maybe someone else can help.

you are exactly right. when I cracked the egg it was a dark spot in it. maybe i can google it.
