Hello everyone!

I have real trouble sexing my Speckled Sussex 6 week old (and one 5 week old) chicks. These are my first and as I understand this breed might not be so easy to sexed properly? I would gladly use some of your input - hen or roo?

And hopefully, later, when they're grown, I will be able to share the outcome so future Speckled Sussex owners might have some extra help in this regard.

I agree with KikiLeigh02! You chickens are some of the most gorgeous chickens I have ever seen! :love:loveI need to get some more speckled sussex! Your pics are just amazing! This age for a chicken is supposed to be an "ugly stage" but your chicks are beautiful! You should keep posting more pic of them when they get older!:thumbsup

1, 5, & 7 look like pullets
I'm not sure about 3, 4, & 6 yet
2, & 8 look like cockerels.

Thank You very much! I will definitely post some updates :) I've noticed a slight difference with most other Speckled Sussex chicks out there - mine did not have the "chipmunk" stripes. But the breed should be about right. My local breeder said he's getting the incubation eggs from three different lines in France. Maybe their birds are a bit different?
