Speckled Sussex hens

This is my first time with SS, I got them at the same time from the same location so they’re all the same age.

Why does one have such a bigger brighter comb than the other two? I waited until after the other two were laying to ask this just to make sure they weren’t just slower at developing.

They’re 6 months. And pretty sure. No crowing and she was the first one laying. Unless she climbs into the box and lays on the egg immediately after one of the other two. But she’s the only one I’ve ever caught in the nesting box

She's 100% a pullet - just more endowed than her flock mates.

She is definitely a pullet, in fact if they are all laying I would expect them all to look like that.

Sussex rooster don't look like that. There all hens and the bird in question just matured faster than the other 2.
