Speckled Sussex not speckled

Here are some of her as a chick. The she’s the one in front in the grass pic, and second front on the left in the box pic. The other striped brown one is a Barnevelder.

There is a breed in Europe called the Brown Sussex. It really resembles the picture that you posted. Also the color of your hen looks like the “base” color that is on my own speckled sussex. Not sure if this helps...

That’s good to know. She’s a beautiful bird, especially when the sun hits her feathers just right.
