Speckled Sussex not speckled

There is such a thing as a red sussex, according to the internet. But I haven't seen them anywhere. Maybe the farm store got "assorted sussex" ?

Yes, but they're typically much lighter in color, almost rusty and shouldn't have the gold hackles. That definitely crossed my mind though!

There is a breed in Europe called the Brown Sussex. It really resembles the picture that you posted. Also the color of your hen looks like the “base” color that is on my own speckled sussex. Not sure if this helps...

That’s good to know. She’s a beautiful bird, especially when the sun hits her feathers just right.

She is a brown susex nvm her breed is a brown susex she is not speackled but she is a brown susex..
