The woman who sold me the hen and rooster called them "anconey" chickens. I consider myself very knowledgeable in chicken breeds so I knew that she meant ancona. However, my instinct said Speckled Sussex. I have him and the hen (pictured below) to breed Speckled Sussex to sell because they are so rare. I thank you all for your input. It concreted the answer in my own head.....Speckled Sussex...

I wonder if calling a speckled chicken "anconey" is like calling black & white striped chicken a "dominiker"?

According to Feathersite, there is a red variety of Ancona in Australia. However; since Anconas have yellow legs and white earlobes (and the OP's not in Australia), I think it's pretty safe to say that this isn't one of those.

Looks more like a Speckled Sussex to me, too, although the amount of white on the rooster's wings and tail is throwing me off. Wonder if he could be a mix?

He and the hen are from the same nest......they are siblings.....idk? A mix is very unlikley......but not impossible....They came from Cackle hatchery's stock of sussex...after a little investigation (asking the lady) the mother came from Cackle Hatchery (which does not sell Anconas) and The father came from the same hatchery , a year later. I am not exactly sure what this means but any help would be appreciated...........

After my previous post, I took another look on Feathersite. Some of the SS roosters did have more white in their tail and wing feathers, so you're probably right.
