I have another that sprouted a decent sized comb this week too. Speckled Sussex, 5+ weeks. Please don't tell me this one is a roo too?!! Sorry the pics aren't the best..."she" isn't very cooperative.

Bought from hatchery, sexed at 1 day old.

Anything with Partridge like a Welsummer or Cochin, Brown Leghorns, Silver or Gold Duckwing, etc have that coloration in males.

It's also not a Speckled Sussex. Sussex should have white legs, not yellow. And that bird isn't Spangled like a Sussex. It looks like a Welsummer cockerel to me.
 
Cockerel. The coloration of the feathers is typical for males of that color. Pullets wouldn't have the dark chest.
I thought there was something with white on the chest? Or is that just any color other than the brown on the chest?

Really? I have a Welsummer also and the feather pattern looks different to me.
