Speckled Sussex

I was looking for other similar threads to see pics of the SS at that age. There was one lady who's SS had some white on the chest and she was looking at that as a sign that it was a roo. IDK, it's all new to me!
In general, Speckled Sussex cockerels have a ton of white all over them when compared to pullets, IMO.

I have another that sprouted a decent sized comb this week too. Speckled Sussex, 5+ weeks. Please don't tell me this one is a roo too?!! Sorry the pics aren't the best..."she" isn't very cooperative.

Bought from hatchery, sexed at 1 day old.
I have Speckled Sussex bantams. They have white legs, which is the standard.

Most of my chicks had white chests, and my SR of 10 wound up with 7 cockerels to 3 pullets.

The pics didn't go in the order I tried to put them in. Pics 1 and 3 are SS (supposedly) and 2 and 4 are Welsummer

Sussex standard:
  • Beak white or horn.
  • Eyes red, except in Lights orange, and in Browns brown or red.
  • Comb, Face,
  • Wattles and Earlobes red.
  • Legs and Feet white.
  • Flesh and Skin white.
