Speckledhen's Ten Commandments of Good Flock Management

Very good advice, I agree this should be a sticky!! Much easier to find for anyone wanting to see it for the first time or reread it.

A good list. Never thought about disinfecting my shoes before and after visting the feedstore. Not going to do it, but had I my life's investment in a poultry business, I would.

This thread needs to be a sticky.

This is the most sound advice any one could give. Thank you, Cyn.

I hope all new flock owners will take note.

In the event of the worst happening culling is very hard to do. It never gets easier either. One reason we have a lot of disease passing around is people refuse to act responsibily and cull that which cannot be cured.

Most don't realize that some diseases cannot be irradicated with medications and the state will come in and cull and burn everything to get it under control.
