I had a lot of black widows this year, and have noticed more webs than usual.

Haven't seen any wooly worms yet. If they are solid-colored then I will stock my pantry!

Oh yeah. Waaay too many spiders. And the most and biggest black widows I've ever seen in my life. Then dd says, welcome to Louisiana Mom....

My chicken coop has been full of spider webs. It seems that I can hardly keep them knocked down. Every time I go into the hen yard, I run into several. I can't seem to walk 20 ft. in my yard without running into a web that has been anchored to the ground, a tree, a tree limb, or something else. All of our pecan trees, our persimmon trees, as well as other trees have a plethoria of spider webs in them. We have several trees that have been severely damaged by the spiders and their webs. I've even noticed a large number of trees that have been wrapped from top to bottom in these spider webs and they have killed the trees!!

In the past, I've seen spider webs in some of the local trees.... especially pecan trees. But, I've never seen so many of them in a tree that it killed the tree. But, I've seen it this year!!

I guess all of this means that I've seen more spiders (or at least their webs) this year than I've ever seen in my life!!

Saw the story on the large spider webs! Amazing - but, as you know - things are bigger in Texas!

No over abundance of spiders in this part of Texas, though mosquitos and black 'love bugs' are everywhere. Never knew that chickens love to eat those bugs

Our OEGB walks right up and eats them out of our hand - then whistles a pretty 'thank you' after each one!

Wow, I thought it was just me! Seen a ton of spiders here, too. I've tried to make peace with them (phobia), and let the few in the house remain.. and now they are freakin' everywhere. Thought it was my fault.. guess not.

And I've seen a wooly caterpillar that was all one color, too.

Wow, the weird facts you learn here! Farmer's Almanac was inconclusive this year. One version said cold, snowy winter.. the worst in years. The other version said warmer than average.. go figure!

Snows' ok, though. The last few years there hasn't been too much and the ticks in the spring have been AWFUL!

Here's the current `pet' Orb behind the coop. For once, I'll at least pretend to be an optimist and interpret her little message as a sign winter will be a mild one (below the Cicada sandwich/read up-to-down) I'm going to say she's written `MISS' and that that means all Polar fronts will turn east in Iowa and `miss' us altogether...

Nothing so sad as an omen read wrong, sigh...

OH I hate spiders - I've been particularly HORRIFIED in the past few days.....
A few I didn't get pictures of, one made me REFUSE to go outside....
These are the others I've found, this on the kitchen ceiling:
