Hello all
I am aware that a slight temp spike is acceptable during incubations, but I am curious about how high is too high during lockdown? I have a Hovabator 1588 which is preset, so I can't understand why both of my thermometers are reading 102.3. I have been been breaking the "don't open" rule in order to cool them down a smidge, but the temp keeps going right back up. I have 4 silkie eggs that made it this far and I'd hate to lose them now (I'm really trying for a nice little silkie hen to be my future incubator!)
I make sure the humidity is a bit high (75%) before I quickly open it, to counter any damage from too much lost humidity and only open it for about 5-10 seconds, tops.
How can I adjust the temp without opening the top?
Thanks for your help!
Amy
