Wanted to share that our 5 Marans eggs in the incubator seem to be OK !
We had one Marans chickie hatch today. (exactly 21 days)
We were a little concerned as we left the curtains on the window open for a few days and the window faces East. The morning sun shone into the incubator and caused some temperature spikes (we set the incubator temp at 102 degrees Fahrenheit).
We have 4 eggs left in the incubator and they should all be hatching in the next few days.
We'll keep you updated. Hopefully all will hatch.
You can see chickie pics on our website under "Purebred Show Chickens".
I'm sure the chickie will look much cuter after it dries off and becomes fluffy.
We took a "just hatched" pic.
Thanks,
