Despite overcoming all the odds from his leg deformities, Spirit threw a clot that lodged in his heart late last night, causing his organs to go into failure. He fought valiantly to survive, but he was in a state of crisis that he could not recover from. So, this afternoon, Scott came to our home and euthanized Spirit. He passed quietly in my arms.

Oh J I am so sorry to hear this, we all loved Spirit, his strength to survive all he went through and your love and devotion to helping him through it all. He was one special gander

I just wanted to add how happy I am that you gave Spirit a chance when others might have given up on him, you gave him a great life, and while it may have been short, I commend YOUR spirit for doing so. He's got his real angel wings now and he'll be waiting at the Bridge some day for you, I just know it. Huge HUGE hugs to you friend. Bless your heart, and his. He will be missed.
