Thank you!!! He is being so cute too with Ember laying regularly now. He helps her build a nest with blankets in corner of room, then stands guard facing door and/or lays on nest protecting egg. She's laid 4 now and I let her keep her nest with one of her eggs in it.

Well we are -11 and snowing like a banchi. I still have to go and do chores late as I was having dinner with my DH. This 120 mile round trip is so tirering. This time I had to use the rolled down window( not that much just enough to make me say brrrrrr), the radio blarring while chewing gum to stay awake tonite. When I am done with chores "I AM GOING TO BED"!

Last night got down to 5 degrees here Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! When I got up to go to dialysis this morning it was so cold when I walked out into the garage and got into the ice cold car..... I think it is about 27* right now. All the geese were fine when I let them out when I got home from dialysis. I have to be there before 6:00 AM. The kid all rushed the each pen door and was pushing on it to get out and go play and strech they wings... Silly kids.

It is so sweet how the ganders court their female or females.... But they can sure turn into some nasty fellows to their human care takers!!! Boy every time they bite me I get a big hematoma on my legs. Even our darling females can put a mean hematoma on the legs.
Sarina who has been laying off an on since the end of November has played hell on my legs... I try to get in the pen before she does to feed at night so I do not get moslessed by her!! None of her eggs have been fertile. So none of the ganders are breeding her. She is laying beautifully well formed eggs. Just checked another egg today not fertile.

Can you gather the eggs while they are out? so they can't get to you?

I have a few ganders I'm going to keep my eye out for when their girls start laying, but thankfully sweetie pie Spirit has not changed his attitude toward me, even though I can tell he's taken on the role of protector of Ember and the nest. If all goes according to schedule, Ember should lay her 5th egg today.
