Good to see you. Thanks for checking in with Spirit's thread.

By the way..... I had my horse vet come over yesterday to take xrays for Scott. Here is a picture of Spirit's foot and the mass that will be removed this morning underneath the middle toe.

Oh my gosh J that looks painful, I'll be praying as I'm sure others will be too. What time is he scheduled for?

Scott is expected to arrive in 2 hours. I also have Richard (who runs local avian rescue group) and Diana, my friend who is a registered nurse and long-time goose owner, coming over to assist as well as contribute supplies for procedure. Of course, my husband is here to help, too. Most likely, I will leave house and feed outdoor critters during actual procedure as I am not sure I can bear to watch.

I don't think I could either. I didn't realize they were doing it at your home, that's great he'll wake up in his own bedroom. Let us know when it's over.

That´s great, more people gaining more experience. Who knows when they´ll need to deal with this themselves! I watched a video of someone doing the op on a chicken, made me squirm just a bit, but my hubby walked off making shivering noises!

Spirit´ll feel a lot better with that gone!

They are beginning the procedure and I felt it best I leave the room, in case the pain block is not effective. The infection is in the joint, so Scott will have to scrape the bones & joint out.
