Spirit - the amazing grey dewlap toulouse gander!

Thanks for the support! He spent the night loose in his room and did not seem any worse for the experience this morning. I plan to let him have an extended bath again today, once I get back from running errands this morning. I'm still hopeful that he will get better without a 2nd procedure, but if it comes to that, then we'll do what we have to for Spirit.

Jasmine, thanks for the post?

The longer baths are clearly helping. Spirit spent almost 4 hours in tub today and he is standing/walking in his room again.

I am thinking since Spirit is such a big gander that it feels good not to have any weight on his foot and just loves the heck out of just floating in the tub staying the weight off that foot. Plus maybe the water will help the healing process more on the foot.... Spirit Auntie Barb says get well soon.

While Spirit floats some, I think he likes being in the tub because he can stand up easier and knows the water will catch him if he loses balance. He prefers it is only filled about 4-5 inches, so he can lift his body out completely.

It has been another tough road for both of us. I am grateful for this thread and all the support.
