Spirit - the amazing grey dewlap toulouse gander!

Did I happen to mention that Baby Girls was eating real food today? Not loads, a leaf of romaine and a few bites of prepared food, but I'll take it with great glee!

Thank you, Lydia! He was funny last night about not wanting to come inside... but once inside, both he and Ember seemed quite happy for warm blankets, hand-picked grass, and fresh bucket of water.

I bet they were it's 21 here this morning Missy and Sammy both laying down on their feet and legs. I bet they'd love to have a warm blanket.

Lydia, it was the same temp here this morning. Fortunately it gets into low 50s in the afternoon. At least there was only a thin layer of ice to break out of kiddy pools. I got Spirit outside by 9:30am, when it got above freezing, which made him happy. I think he may have overdone it yesterday, though... especially with his attempt to avoid going inside last night... so I am keeping a close eye on him today.

I hope he's okay this afternoon.

I am so glad that we are and able to be here to share everyone's story. We were able to round up my geese to get the metal NPIP bands off. They ar eso thin and it just gets way too cold here for the metal on the legs. At night it has been down to 5 degrees and so far up to 25 degrees during the day. My thought was that when it gets down to 10 during the day and 0 and below I will force them inside during the night. Then when it stay's in the below 0 for the day then they will stay inside all the time. What do anyone think about my plan. I do have straw outside for them to nestle into. Then in Febuary I plan on sperating the geese into pairs for breeding.
