Spitzhaubens

I have a broody Spitzhauben! This is 2 yr old Nadine, my first Spitz ever to go broody.
Currently in the basement in broody jail.

I'm leaning boy, boy, girl, boy.

I like your girls light coloring. I think she'll be properly spotted.
Sadly.... :lau

I agree with you completely!!!

So, the definite male and female, as well as the iffy ones!!

I'll try to get more pics. It's looking like only 1 male. His wattles are dropping but none of the others have changed.

Photo time! :wee
The following pics are from my Easter hatch. They will be 10 weeks old tomorrow.

1st let's get my photo-bomber out of the way. This is "Oops" a modern game bantam x serama mix pullet. She's VERY friendly and outgoing. She was hatched with the Spitzes and thinks she's a full-sized chicken.

.... and this is DS's fav. = The chick formerly known as "Pink"
He decided her real name will be "Poot" by writing out several choices and placing a mealworm on each. She pecked and ate the mealworm on "Poot" first.

I only took one pic of her today since we already have many.
She's a very spoiled girl. Here she was last night:
While all the other chickens are panting in the heat, Poot is sleeping comfortably in the AC.

Got these two beauties at just a few days old from Rural King. They were in the “assorted polish” bin. We’ve had them for 9 weeks now. I’m pretty sure one of them is attempting to crow. Which stinks because we don’t want any more roosters in our small flock. Are these boys?

Yes they are.

Here are the questionable ones. Now I think both are female.

Chick "YELLOW"

Note: Chick "Green" is in the background of 1st pic

and "GREEN" - This one slightly reminds me of @homeschoolin momma 's 'FanHead' Her crest goes up but then the front feathers bend back instead of forward.

Ok, I agree. 1 boy and 3 girls. I like the boy so far and yellow. I don't like greens crest. She's a sell.

You don't want another "FanHead"? :p Hard to tell if she'll outgrow it. The crests are just starting to slant.

We're probably only keeping PINK (or Poot). She's the only one that matters. I could be talked into Yellow because I actually think she's the prettiest, but we don't "need" more chickens. If our spitz cockerel is more tame, you're welcome to have him. I also have another cockerel in "foster care" that will be available soon. (I sold some day old Spitzies and slipped in a couple extras as a way to increase her odds of getting females. Friend is growing them out and will be returning 2 birds. I saw pics 3 weeks ago and know at least one is male - a very early bloomer! Those chicks are held a lot, so he might not be as flighty as the broody-raised chicks.
