Sounds like a great mix. I've read that dominiques are great birds but have never owned any. Chamois spitz eggs available if ud like to try them.

Talking about the color - it is very similar to a buckskin horse .... they are a cremelo (whitest of white) with a bay (brown with black socks) the white fades out the brown to a lovely gold color .....

I hear ya. I've been trying to shut off my bator for over a month. Somehow eggs keep creeping in there, lol.

Wow, very interesting. I never thought about horse color genetics. Makes sense that it would work similarly.

You know, that is a great way to put it. Exactly the reasons I have been breeding budgies for the past six years. Like making living sculptures, in a way. I am not going to breed chickens, I am not going to breed chickens, I am not....

Oh, and my husband has also been asking me when I am going to get that chick brooder out of the garage so I can put my car back in. I have had chicks of one age or another since November! I think it would be quite dangerous for me to own an incubator as well....

You are absolutely correct that incubators can be dangerous. My DH was making fun of me bc I asked for a fancy incubator rather than fancy jewelry for Christmas. Since then there has been a chicken population explosion here bc almost everything I put in there hatches.

Mine are still little possible maybe birds locked away in eggs that will soon be flying through the air.
