To me they do! Spitz have big nostrils if that's what you were wondering about

My son & his pullet, "Poot."

She gives him hugs by stretching out her neck to rest head on his shoulder.

She trusts him and is very relaxed.

I love it! They usually have a dress-up-your chicken contest here on BYC for halloween. It hasn’t been announced yet, but should be soon. I always enter….here’s little Moonshine last year. She doesn’t mind these things if it means getting a bunch of sunflower seeds…

Yes. My little silkie witch won a prize last year.....
but she's more frightful today because she's molting. Nothing but black pins on her head and neck with a patchy prickly body.

My sister picked up a couple of Chamois Appenzeller Spitzhauben chicks this week. I’m not familiar much with the breed but wondering if any of you can offer some guesses as to sex. They are 9 weeks and a few days in these pictures. The bigger one has a neater crest, the smaller one has less tidy hair.

Very pretty! I guessing they are pullets, because at 9 weeks, the boys’ wattles become noticeable and are red.

Hooray! That will make her happy. The other two chicks she picked out are a different breed and looking very male to me.
