'Splain something to me in re to baseball-type caps

Just like it did years ago when there were no cell phones .

Sure it did, but it's better if your stuff doesn't burn down. We COULD all go back to living in the dark ages...throw away the cell phones and start hauling water every morning. Outhouses anyone? I mean....

Well I guess you could say that I live in the dark ages then , because I have to haul 16 five gallon buckets a day out to my horses and chickens because we don't have frost free spickets out to the pasture . I'm sorry to hear about your in-laws fire....but life happens . I'm glad they weren't inside . My point is that technology...especially cell phones has had so much of a negative impact on society , that I wish they were never invented . People are talking/texting while they are driving , at the stores , and while they're eating dinner . Do you really believe that a cell phone is worth missing out on life ? No thank you for me . I have one for long distance , and for when I travel out of town . I get so irritated that Everyone asks for your phone number...I give them the land line...then they ask for your cell number . 9 times out of 10 everyone will call the cell and never call the land line . I live in a place where there is NO cell service , I tell everyone to call the land line but time and again they call the cell . WHY ?!

I can. I chose to quit using one several years ago and don't regret it at all. That thing nagged me day and night. Now, if I'm not reachable? Oh well, I'll find out sooner or later what the "big deal" was. Usually it's a pretty small deal.

As far as wearing baseball caps indoors? I guess I'm old fashioned, I think they look dorky, no matter which direction the bill is facing. DH wears them to work every day. Sometimes he takes it off when he comes in, sometimes he doesn't. But never fail, when dinner comes out, he removes it. And he'd never wear it in a restaurant, be it classy or not. He knows how unattractive they are. He wears it to keep the sun out of his eyes. Not many places have the sun inside.

I mentioned that same thing in a previous post. The correct answer is he should get over and accept that he lost his hair but we both know that's a bit harsh. One of my closest friends has the same thing and he's 12 years younger than me. I know it bugs him so when he leaves his hat on it's just him. Who cares.

Hey, UWW, good to see you old friend. Been a while since you visited these parts. I hope all is well in your world.

As well as I can make it be....you should win the lottery so you can pay my house off !

I have told him to do what makes him feel most comfortable.

I have a different friend, I had known him for years (kids played sports together etc) I had NO idea his long hair did not start at the top of his head, he was HORRIFIED when his wife and I walked in the house and caught him with out his hat.

Bald shaved or head full of hair I dont really care, but I do feel for those that feel that uncomfortable in their own skin.

I do too , but you can't make a person feel what they want . They have to love themselves first ! I'd hate to wake up in the morning and look in the mirror just to tell myself " you're ugly" . I went through that stage 30 lbs lighter ago.... still don't like the weight , but I still love myself .

I think I love myself better if I stay away from mirrors. LOL!!!

I remember when a mirror was my best friend....Still is, we just don't visit each other, as much as we used to.
