"Splash" Chickens

I was just wondering what splash chickens (like Orpingtons, Andalusians, etc.) were. I am pretty sure that it means a "splash" of colors but I wanted to be sure! Also if anyone wants to post pics of their "splash" chickens that would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The white girl in front is a splash polish. All I know is that they are produced when breeding for the white crested variety. The color is kind of like harlequin and merle in dogs, some are more spotty than others.
