I'm ahead of you! I have a splash cockerel that has just started crowing and treading, and a splash pullet that is not yet laying, and three blue hens, not yet laying, as well as two black hens that have started laying a few weeks ago. In the spring I hope to have decent BBS marans eggs for sale. Depends on what color the blue and splash lay. No telling til then. With my luck, the will be silly putty colored and I will be having a lot of omelettes.
