Splash Marans?

She is gorgeous!!! I am not answering to give any input to your question, cuz I am a newbie and don't know. But I love chickens!!! And I had to tell you she is beautiful!!!

She definitely looks like a splash Marans and a beautiful one at that and the egg is a Marans egg and that is the typical color for a slash or a blue copper marans. I still feel like its not her laying though since her comb is verry tiny and pale pink that to me says she is immature and not near laying yet. DO you have any others that could possibly be laying the dark egg?

I do indeed have a lovely and mature Black Copper Marans, and she's definitely laying, but I could swear that Lulu, my gangly looking splash Marans is also in the nestbox laying. But maybe I'm wrong and it's all Dora, my BCM. Here's a photo of Dora.

At what age should I expect Lulu, my splash Marans to start developing her comb and looking more like a mature hen? I think she's about 7 months old, but I could be off some in either direction.
