Self-blue and Lavender are the same color.

Splash is a different gene. Splash is an inconsistent color. The bird looks blue, with black or darker blue 'splashes' on it. This color type may also look more white than blue.

Self-blue/Lavender breeds true (when you breed to a lavender bird to a lavender bird, you'll get lavender). When you breed a splash bird to a splash bird, you'll get splash, but bred to a black bird, you'll get 100% blues.

Splash is the homozygous (pure) form of the Andalusian blue gene (Bl). It can vary from very light greyish blue with lots of blue splotches to just about white with very few blue flecks.

Self blue in USA is the same as lavender also called pearl grey in some countries. This is a light even blue/grey colour often with a silvery cast.

Self blue in many other countries tends to means the bird's plumage is entirely an even coloured Andalusian blue.

Ok here are a few pic's to see the differences

I have a lavender splash sizzle that is just the cutest bird I have ever seen. I want to find her a roo so they can make more of them and I can share them with you all. I can't seem to get a picture of her that does her beauty justice. Everyday she gets more beatiful. I'll try to get one on my camcorder. it takes pics too. I have been using my phone but it just don't work as well. Here she is using my camera phone. She is 3 months old by the way and her name is Fluffy
