Splay legged keet

[Guineas]

Hi. Anyone know what to do with a keet (5 days old) that has splayed legs since hatching? I think it is slightly improving but wonder if there is anything I can do to help it?!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. The sooner he is treated , the better the result. Put "splayed leg treatment," in the search box for fastest results. Usually a "hobble" is made with bandaids to keep the legs closer under the body. Also chicks need good footing, slippery substances like newspaper only make splayed feet worse.

Thanks for your help. I have put a little hobble on it and already seems more secure, will check it regularly and hope it continues to work.
