?Splay Legs

I've got a little chick right now who had a ROUGH hatch, I've got his legs splinted right now but he's sleeping on his back! Keeps rolling over like that, though he's active otherwise. Hope mine makes it, though it's good to hear about the Palsy possibility because honestly, I never considered it. This little chick is still tumbling around drunkenly though it's 48 hours oldish too, so we'll see.

@TurningChicken, it is a total cutie and looks to be in much better shape than mine. I hope he does ok. I saw your other post. Did you do the other splint method?

@Naomi, mine rolled over a lot too. I don't think that is a good thing. Do a search for "chick on its back" or something. I found a thread that suggested putting a rolling over chick in a teacup w/ paper towels helps them get their equilibrium back. If its associated w/ a leg issue I don't know if that would work. I totally made up the Palsey thing b/c it seemed more neurologic to me than musculoskeletal. But I have nothing to base it on at all.

Hope all your chicks turn out OK!

Thank you, Sportchick - I did a BYC search and revived an old thread in Emergencies/illness/injury. Signs aren't so good for little Stevie Wonder!
