I have 4 day old bantam Silkie, as a result of too many chicks hatching at once she got splayed leg... I have done multiple different braces (the best so far is small rubber and with straw in center) but even with that it still turns it foot sideways (not towards the front) she can walk, she gets around, eating and drinking great... but when standing still her left foot wanted to point sideways... am I doing something wrong? Will this correct itself eventually with brace?

Your not going to believe this… we had a box of chicks arrive with one having a splay leg.
My husband tried the band aid trick and that didn’t work. Plus the others wanted to peck it.
So he came up with crazy glue and linguine.
He glued one piece to the toe and another to the leg.
My gosh it stayed on and that chick was walking on it right away. In a few days it had fallen off and the chick was doing great with zero problems.
There’s your fix!
Little Linguine is a awesome little girl.

This is genius! But it would be helpful to see a photo of how this works. Maybe recreate the linguine structure on the foot of a normal chick using water soluble glue, such as Elmer's or library paste, snap a pic or two and soak the linguine off afterward.
